Riftwalker is coming along pretty well at almost 40,000 words. I know that it’s been a long journey for those of you who have been following this novel and its progress since I started it as part of the 2010 National Novel Writing Month, but rest assured, it will become reality this year, come hell or high water.
I’m still in the progress of not only finishing the writing, but re-vamping the cover art since I’ll need it when I go to create the book on Amazon. That’s been something of a challenge since I have to take into consideration finding royalty free or creative commons licensing when using stock images and such. (Although, if you know of an artist or designer that wouldn’t mind working cheaply for an up-and-coming author, feel free to send them my way!)
I plan to go the self-publishing route with Riftwalker, though the thought of submitting it to a traditional pub-house did cross my mind. It’s not that I don’t have faith in the story or the writing, but simply because I wrote this story for fun not for profit. If it ends up being the latter, that’s just icing on the cake.
